World Series

First and foremost, I would like to thank the Philadelphia Phillies. Without them this blog would be nothing but my inner Giants fan imploring the Rays to destroy the Dodgers. So thank you Phillies, you have made the World Series watchable. Beat LA!!! Beat LA!!! Oh wait, you already did. Oh well, beat 'em again. Just for good measure.

Is it just me or do the stadium names concern anybody else? I mean, with all of the games being played at Tropicana Field and Citizens Bank Park, someone is going to get squeezed.

Who would have thought the Rays and Phillies would be in the Series? If you asked me at the beginning of the season I might have said the Phillies had a shot, but the Rays would have been 31st on my list. I know, there are only 30 teams but I would have thought the Sacramento River Cats had a better shot. (I also picked the Raiders to go 2-15 this season. Even losing on their bye week.)

There are a lot of exciting players on both teams and that should make it fun to watch. Youngsters (Evan Longoria, B.J. Upton, the entire Rays rotation, Cole Hamels) and veterans (Carl Crawford, Cliff Floyd, Ryan Howard, Jimmy Rollins, Chase Utley, Pat Burrell, Matt Stairs.) Then you have Jamie Moyer who is far removed from the youngster category and transcends even the veteran list.

Prediction: Rays in 5. (Disclaimer: I am not a professional handicapper. Prediction is for entertainment purposes only. I have only picked the NFL games at a rate of 58% this season.)
